Who is Tomas?

On a chilly fall day in Björkvik, just outside Stockholm, I did my first dive as a newly certified diver. This was a goal that I had had since the age of 9 when I was part of a free-diving club.

My interest for underwater photography really caught on when I was in the Maldives and had borrowed my father's underwater camera. After a few days underwater, photographing everything in sight, I knew that this was a calling. Today I have more than 20 years of experience in UW photography, and my passion has taken me around the world to encounter as many species of sharks as possible, as well as the curious, giants of the sea - whales, and the large mouthed crocodile. Many species of sharks that I have photographed are on the endangered list according to IUCN.

In 2010 I became a Scuba Travel ambassador. I join special trips that are designed to encounter the "larger" pelagics in their own elements. Unique places that offer exciting and exhilarating experiences. Encounters that you will remember for a lifetime! During a group trip with me, I am eager to share my knowledge and experiences within photography, video and editing. I give tips on camera equipment, as well as tips on what the best angle is to get the perfect shot. Being a Scuba Travel ambassador, exhibiter and presenter is my way of sharing with others the beauty of the species that are being lost in our oceans. Read more about Tomas: scubasite.nu.
