Diving in The Caribbean is popular but few know that the Cayman Islands are actually really good for diving and diving trips. A liveaboard here in the Cayman Islands is a truly wonderful adventure where you cruise in the blue sea of the Caribbean. The diving is easy and it is often diving at walls and rock formations covered in corals and sponges. Here you often see different species of sharks. Caribbean reef sharks, nurse sharks and silky sharks are relatively common. But here you can also find hammerhead sharks, lemon sharks, tiger sharks, årfin sharks and a lot of rays. Stingrays and eagle rays are relatively common here, especially on shallower sandy bottoms. If you're lucky, you can see several of these big sharks out in the blue. Especially with little Cayman and Cayman Brac, the chances are good for the dramatic wall dives that you experience here.
Wrecks and stingrays
In addition to sharks and beautiful wall dives, there are also some wrecks here with Kittiwake perhaps the most famous in the entire Caribbean. An American ship that was sunk here in 2011 and is today a popular diving site. Marine life likes this wreck too and nowadays it has become an artificial reef. Stingray city is perhaps the most famous dive site in the Cayman Islands. Large numbers of southern stingrays come here every day and willingly interact with divers and snorkelers. A fantastic place for those who like UV photography. Both of these dive sites are located on Grand Cayman.
