Diving trips Hurghada in Egypt

Hurghada is located on the Red Sea and was the first place in Egypt where tourism came for diving trips after Sinai and Sharm el Sheik. Here the city is beautifully situated with the sea to the east and mountains to the west. Hurghada was just a few decades ago a quiet fishing village but today is quite large. Today, the city has developed into a holiday paradise for the over one million sun worshipers and diving enthusiasts who visit Hurghada every year. Diving trips to Hurghada in Egypt have become a concept in the diving world. There are many who have made their first diving trip to tropical seas right here to Hurghada.
Despite all the tourists, the city has managed to retain much of its Egyptian charm. With views over the crystal clear calm waters and over the seemingly endless desert, you can still stroll the streets. You can visit old markets, shop or just stop for a cup of tea.
Hurghada is a good destination for those who travel with family or with friends where there are also non-divers in the group. Because there is a wide variety of day trips with both diving and snorkeling here. There are also other types of land-based excursions for those who don't want to go out by boat. For those who want to dive, there is a large selection of day trips by boat and many dive sites for both beginners and more experienced divers. The diving directly off the coast of Hurghada often has a little worse visibility than compared to all other known places in Egypt. Boat trips, however, go daily to beautiful reefs and exciting wrecks a little off the coast.
The wreck diving is what probably draws the most divers to Hurghada. The most famous places are probably Abu Nuha's Chrisoula K, Kimon M, Carnatic and Giannis D but otherwise Thistlegorm is probably the wreck that attracts the most. A trip from Hurghada takes about two hours to get out here but it really is an amazing wreck. With Hurghada as a starting point, many liveaboards start and end their routes here when they are going to drive in the northern Red Sea. One or a couple of nights at a hotel in Hurghada is common for many to extend in connection with their diving trip and liveaboard in Egypt.
