A liveaboard in Sudan i The red sea is for many a dream. Stories from diving trips talking about coral reefs far more beautiful are in Egypt. Many people's eyes express dreams when we say that there are more sharks than in Egypt. The feeling of weightlessness and experiencing better visibility than in Egypt and so on. Unfortunately, getting into Sudan is quite messy. There are liveaboards that depart from Port Sudan as well, but the easiest is from Egypt and then sail south and into Sudan's waters. Then you can get diving in Egypt on the way too.
The diving in Sudan is generally very very good. Sharks are common and there are often several different shark species and the reefs teem with fish. Here you get the typical feeling of the Red Sea where the reefs "breathe". When you see all the little anthias walking up and down the reef as a pulsating mass, it gives a feeling that is hard to describe and must be experienced. Here there is not only marine life but also several wrecks you can experience on your liveaboard in Sudan. The most famous is probably Umbria, but here there are several wrecks that will tickle you who like wreck diving. If you have the opportunity to do a longer liveaboard, you can come further south. Because that's where the big fish are taking over more and more. Manta rays, hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, tiger sharks and yearfin sharks are all relatively common during parts of the year.
Long to pressure chamber
Important to remember when you go on a liveaboard in Sudan is that pressure chambers are very remote. It is also a long journey back to Egypt. Even if the diving you get is fantastic, it's important to have this with you. Sudan has something for all divers but we recommend some experience to get the most out of your diving trip to Sudan. This is perhaps the Red Sea's best diving.
For you who also want to have a few nice days on land in Egypt in connection with your diving trip and live board does it work well to combine. You can combine with, for example, days at the coast and dive more or do shore programs and discover Luxor or choose a regular flight and make a stopover in Istanbul. Contact us for your wishes, we will make a proposal for that as well.
