Portugal, with its dive sites in the Atlantic Ocean, offers wonderful and diverse diving. Dive the wrecks of the Algarve, or head to the Azores - sometimes called the Galapagos of Europe. Here, you can get visibility of up to 30 meters along the mainland, and out by the islands even more. Diving is possible all year round, but the water temperature is warmest in the summer and early autumn.

The diving offers everything from wrecks and caves and volcanic formations, to mantas, dolphins and - if you are lucky - sunfish. It is also a great destination for divers interested in macro photography.

Portugal has something for all divers. However, even if you are not a diver, the Azores may be something for you. Here, you can go on dolphin and whale safaris, and have the chance to experience what many people dream about: meeting the giants of the ocean in the wild.
