Along the Mexican coast, south of Cancun, you find Xcalak. This old fishing village has grown and is today the last Mexican city before the border to Belize. Here you will find yourself diving in a beautiful national park consisting of 20 km of protected reefs, giving you the opportunity to experience completely unique dive sites. For example, you will be able to dive "La Poza" - a dive site where hundreds of Tarpon fishes will come during summer - and although unusual in itself, this fish is so common here that you are almost guaranteed this awesome diving experience!

About the diving in Xcalak

  • Snorkel with American crocodiles at Chinchorro Banks
  • Dive in the protected national park
  • Chance to see dugongs

In Xcalak you also have the opportunity to experience amazing topographical formations and the chance to see dugongs.

Outside Xcalak you will find Mexico's only atoll - Chinchorro Bank, which is home to the world's largest American crocodile population. It is also the northern hemisphere's largest reef with over 100 wrecks and 10 square kilometers of healthy coral reefs. Chinchorro Banks is simply a unique and amazing diving experience where you will do two dives during your day trip.
