About Halmahera

With MY Maluku Explorer you are given the chance to dive in northern Moluccas: South-West Halmahera, an area only reached by a few divers per year.

The safari usually starts in Ternate or Labuha (sometimes it begins in Bitung in Lembeh / Sulawesi) and you reach Halmahera within two days. On the way to and in Halmahera, there are fantastic dives. The Halmahera area consists of 399 different islands, which means that there are many potential dive sites. There are many places in Halmahera that have not yet been explored. This means that many of the dives you do are still unexplored dives. The area has incomparable rock formations with overhanging rock blocks in their places. The nature of the dive sites varies from day to day. During some dives you will see more macro and other larger pelagic fish, while other dive sites offer wall diving, sloping reefs or huge rock formations.
