Diving in Newfoundland

Just off the coast of Newfoundland, the Labrador and Gulf Streams meet. This mix of streams attracts thousands of whales, offers nesting sites for millions of seabirds and gives life to a spectacular underwater world of plants and animals. Add pristine dive waters, massive icebergs and wreck history from over 500 years ago and you have this world-class diving destination!

The diving season in Newfoundland and Labrador runs from May to November. There are many wrecks here located at dive-friendly depths, and they are available throughout the season, making this area one of the best wreck dive sites in all of North America. In addition to these wrecks, new, exciting opportunities open up every week, and our month of July offers most things!

The best time to dive at the icebergs in Conception Bay is between May and the end of July. Diving on these beautiful and majestic icebergs that have stood in the way of so many unfortunate ships evokes a combination of emotions, from wonder and curiosity to sadness.

To mark the best time to see whales, you need to travel here in July or August. This is when the capelin (a small shoal fish) wells up. Most common to see here are humpback whales and minke whales. We offer a snorkeling trip with humpback whales, and if you are lucky you will return to the beach with the camera memory full of pictures and the heart with unforgettable memories.
