Mozambique

The country in southern Africa has over 2000 km of coastline towards the Indian Ocean. Here there are fantastic beaches and a very rich marine life. The waters are known for large animals such as manta rays, whale sharks, humpback whales, zebra sharks, sand tiger sharks, tiger sharks, hammerhead sharks, guitar sharks, reef sharks, silky sharks and many other larger species. There are also many species of rays here and sometimes they pass by in large shoals. Dolphins and various whales are frequently seen along the coast from Bazaruto in the north all the way down to the South African border with Ponta do Ouro or the Golden Point.

In fact, there are so many big fish here that if you do all the dives, we can almost guarantee that you will see sharks. It can be current at times and the diving becomes no less exciting and spectacular when you are going out to sea or back. The waves along the long beaches are often a little bigger, which means that getting in and out of the beach requires a little planning, routine and speed. Hang in there because sometimes the waves pass quickly.

Very exciting diving and a chance for "The big 5"

The marine life is rich and there are also coral gardens and large rock formations. The sea is like a big labyrinth in some places and in the middle of these pillars and blocks, a small shark, moray eel, frogfish, nudibranch, hawkfish or large sea bass can always appear. Between them are the oases, the reefs can be quite flat and at first glance look a bit boring but here too it is teeming with marine life and in the current or the swell different species of shark like to patrol. Diving in Mozambique is really good and exciting but it is good if you have at least an AOW or equivalent and have logged some dives, preferably around 50 or more so that you get the most out of diving here.

Experience Mozambique and the dates can be made pretty much completely flexible for those of you who can't go on this trip, but make the most of it - this will be a very special diving trip that ends with a few days of safaris or game runs in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Chance at The big 5 in the sea and The big 5 on land, all in one trip.
