Liveaboard Philippines spring 2026, Southern Visayas with Patrik Jonson

Experience – A truly wonderful liveaboard to the Philippines in spring 2026 in combination with a few days at a resort. Experience the fantastic variety, rich marine life and diving of the southern Visayas and Bohol Sea. Areas normally visited are around Negros, Bohol including Cabilao, Cebu and sometimes Camiguin and Siquijor. Here you can find everything from wall diving, sand slopes, macro diving on sandy bottoms, schools of larger fish and often rays, various species of shark including whale shark.

The Bohol Sea is regularly visited and inhabited by over a dozen different species of whales including dolphins, blue whales, pilot whales and sperm whales. In addition, turtles and a multitude of invertebrates. Only a few liveaboarders operate in the Philippines and depending on the season, different parts are normally visited.

Lovely Liveaboard, lots of diving, nice relaxation

Your accommodation – You will start with one night in Manila as domestic flights do not always match international flights and then stay seven nights aboard a lovely liveaboard, Infiniti. On board you will enjoy full board, relaxation, socializing and lots of diving. The accommodation on board is very good and on the liveaboard you will enjoy air-conditioned cabins with plenty of space, a nice sun deck and in the spacious dining room/lounge you have a natural gathering place after the day's diving. After the liveaboard you will go to the other side of Negros Island to Sipalay where you stay five nights and has ten more dives in place. A completely different experience where you will enjoy sunsets and sand between your toes after a week of liveaboard.

Extension: Of course, you can extend your trip with nice days in the Philippines. We arrange flights, transfers, accommodation and diving for those who wish to complete the trip. Contact us we will help you.

Ambassador: Along for the ride is Patrick Johnson who has visited the Philippines several times and can tell you more about different places to travel and dive in. On trips with Patrik he will tell/show diving techniques, equipment, how he works with cameras, lighting, image processing, look at pictures, talk about fish and of course do a lot of fantastic dives together.

Bohol Sea and Sulu Sea, Philippines

Bohol Sea
In the southern Visayas, the reefs are rich in marine life. The sea is surrounded by the islands, Negros with Dumaguete and Dauin, Cebu with Moalboal, Oslob and Sumilon Island, Bohol with Cabilao, Panglao, Anda and Balicasaq and finally Mindanao with Camiguin Island.
This is a large sea and part of the Pacific Ocean where various species of whales permanently live and also have whales that pass by on their migrations. Here, for example, blue whales are seen from time to time, sperm whales, killer whales, fin whales and dolphins are common. There are also other large animals such as turtles and several species of shark. Hammerhead shark, reef shark, blue shark, thresher shark and whale shark are some of those that are seen from time to time.

The reefs are rich in marine life, the macro life and invertebrates are outstanding and here you will normally find lots of different strange frogfish, nudibranchs, crustaceans, echinoderms, ghost pipefish and various species of squid. The reefs vary and there is everything from what looks like deserted sandy bottoms to breathtaking wall dives and in some places colorful reefs patrolled by lots of fish and sometimes really large schools of tuna, barracuda and snappers. Stingrays, eagle rays, marble rays and sometimes even manta rays pass by from time to time with a bit of luck.

Sulu Sea
West of the island of Negros lies the Sulu Sea, which is often associated with the Tubbataha reefs, Apo reef, Cagayancillo and Palawan. Here on the coast lies Sipalay with a number of beautiful long beaches and which offers varied diving with wrecks, reefs and macro diving. The fish life is not as rich as in the eastern parts but the variety and the environment on land make this a place that many appreciate.
Here you can recharge your batteries after a week of liveaboard, enjoy the peace and quiet and add more diving to your logbook. Octopuses, various species of crustaceans, ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, flatworms are common and sometimes even larger fish and schools pass here. The variety of dive sites and the nice atmosphere in Sipalay make this a nice place to relax the last few days before returning home and when you enjoy a cold drink at sunset, the feeling of a nice holiday really comes.
