Casalay Boutique Villas and Dive resort in Puerto Galera is a small and family resort in LaLaguna, a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Sabang. This is a simple but nice resort that is very nicely located right by the sea with its own small beach. The resort is suitable for those who focus on diving as well as those who do not dive, couples, small groups or even alone. Here you have a relaxing and peaceful environment with a lovely view over the water towards Medio island. The occasional boat passes on its way into the quiet lagoon, but otherwise there is peace and quiet here.
The resort is surrounded by lush vegetation and has two pools directly facing the sea. Casalay Boutique Villas and Dive resort has its own restaurant and here you have very well-prepared and tasty meals that are also suitable for those who have vegetarian dishes on their wish list. The villas are beautifully located on the slope facing the sea and all the rooms are a little different from each other. In total, the resort can take a maximum of 48-52 people, but that assumes that it is full and up to 5 people in some of the villas that have double bedrooms.
Good but simple rooms
All villas have their own shower and toilet and a balcony that offers a cooling breeze and a view of the sea. In addition to diving, you also have the opportunity to get a massage or various treatments. SUPs and kayaks in transparent material are offered free of charge to guests. If you want a land tour, just ask what is available. A trip on winding roads to Tamaraw falls, visit a market or ask for a private picnic to a small beach and spend the day to yourself are some examples of what can be done. An adventure day with a quad bike or Zipline can also be arranged on site.
Wireless internet is available to all guests and the pool offers you and other guests a place for a nice swim. Diving with Casalay Boutique
Casalay is very new and since its inception has grown more from being a resort for relaxation to focus more and more on offering diving. Here you have peace and quiet and distance from the shoal in Sabang with nightlife and more for those looking for a party together with diving.
All dives are done with experienced instructors or divemasters who first give you a review or briefing of the dive site you are going to visit
Over 30 different varied dive sites within 20 minutes of travel are available from the dive center. This means that there are dives to suit all experience levels. It increases diving comfort that the dive boat can generally go back to the resort between most dives. The exception to this is the trips to Verde Island, where you usually do two to three dives and have lunch on board. Casalay offers up to four dives a day with the first dive at around 7.30-8am.
The diving is organized in smaller groups and is done from small local so-called bankas (outrigger) boats. Diving here can be done all year round, every day of the week. The water temperature varies during the year between 23C in January-February and up to 30C from July to November. Visibility is usually at least 18-20 meters and can be up to 40 meters. Please note that you must present a logbook and diving certificate before diving. The diving center is being relocated to its own larger part more conveniently located by pools and the beach now in 2023
