Komodo Resort

Komodo Resort is conveniently located on the beach just outside the Komodo National Park in southern Indonesia. Here you live in comfortable bungalows directly by the sea and you have sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. The resort has a total of 13 boats. The diving center has brand new and well-maintained diving equipment and a team of skilled and very experienced staff. Diving, snorkeling and excursions are available to all corners of the Komodo archipelago.

At the resort you have a gourmet restaurant and there is a beach bar for refreshing cocktails at sunset. Enjoy a spa offering traditional massages and you'll also find an outdoor gym. Here you are always surrounded by many smiles. The restaurant offers a mix of Indonesian, Italian and international dishes. They are always served with fresh products from local organic farms and freshly caught fish to your table. Every day you have homemade bread, pasta for dinner and pastries for breakfast. Feel the breeze from the sea and enjoy the view while sipping a glass of wine.

The restaurant and bar at the Komodo resort has a good selection of different wines from around the world. The view from the bar is spectacular and with a great selection of drinks it is the perfect place to relax after a day of diving, snorkelling or hiking. In addition to diving and snorkeling, you can also do tours, either half or full days to various islands and areas in and around Komodo National Park.

The brand new Spa facility is located right next to the beach and offers traditional massages. You can also get a body scrub, anti-tan treatment, facial or a special diving massage. Komodo Resort also offers a small but well-equipped outdoor gym on the second floor of the common area. There you have a fantastic view of the sunset and the surrounding beaches and islands.

Diving at Komodo

Komodo Resort currently has 5 boats that are specially built for diving and snorkeling. It accommodates a total of 80 places although the resort does not accommodate more than 40 divers and 50 guests in total. To carry out diving excursions also to the southern part of the archipelago, the resort also has a 12 meter long motor boat. The boat has 2 large engines and takes you quickly over longer distances. It can also be booked for private excursions. Three other boats are available which are intended for quick transfers and excursions around the archipelago. The diving center is well equipped and has 45 complete pieces of equipment. There are 190 12-liter aluminum bottles. To fill all the bottles, you have a total of 5 compressors and a system for Nitrox.

Ideal for snorkeling

Snorkeling in Komodo is usually a fantastic experience. There are several great snorkeling spots and it starts with the resort's house reef. The reef is about a kilometer long and it is normally appreciated even by the most discerning. Only five minutes away from the resort is the beautiful Sebayur Kecil reef for you to enjoy. Within a 30 to 45 minute boat ride, there are several other incredibly fine options for snorkeling as well. The Tatawa Besar coral garden is one of the archipelago's most beautiful and has corals in absolute top condition.

Many fantastic dive sites

Manta Point is a highlight you shouldn't miss because you can often see many mantas. They also normally let you get really close to them. At the Mawan dive site, the coral reef begins in the white sand. There are many other exciting places that all make the Komodo archipelago a dream place for snorkelers. You are always accompanied by a motor boat and on request by a guide when you snorkel too.

If you wish, you can also take a course and learn to dive.

The dive center here at the Komodo resort has a wide range of PADI diving courses. You will find everything from basic courses up to Divemaster. There are also many different special courses for those who wish. There are about 50 dive sites scattered throughout the various parts of Komodo National Park. In the southern parts you have, for example, Manta Alley and Cannibal Rock. These are some of the world's most famous dive sites. The dive sites in Komodo are very good with rich marine life and they are very diverse.

Varied diving

You will experience everything from flat sandy bottoms to slopes with beautiful coral gardens. Spectacular wall diving is also available here. At many of the dive sites there can be a strong current, so for those of you who like drift dives, this is a fantastic destination. If you are lucky, you will see manta rays, whale sharks, reef sharks or hammerhead sharks and other large fish may appear. The macro diving is also absolutely fantastic and the corals are in absolute top condition in many places.
