Saronde Island resort in Sulawesi is a small island in the northern parts. Not as well known as other places in North Sulawesi such as Bangka, Lembeh, Gangga, Bunaken and others but also more untouched and unexplored. Blue Bay Divers offers a truly wonderful and idyllic experience. For those of you who don't need five-star accommodation but like the luxury of being in a place almost without tourists, this is paradise. There are only six private villas in total so you are almost alone here in paradise. All rooms have their own toilet and outdoor shower, private terrace with sun loungers and a lovely view out over the sea. Blue Bay Divers and Saronde island resort have their own restaurant and bar with a view of the sea. It is pure pleasure to start or end the day here. The dinners are served buffet style and are well-sized and a nice mix of European and Asian cuisine.
More than just diving
Being here is a balm for the reasons. To enjoy even more, treat yourself to a massage offered on site. A more complete Spa will be available later, but enjoy on your terrace while you hear the waves crashing against the beach. The diving at Saronde is the reason to come here, but tours or island hopping to small islands nearby are also arranged on site. Don't miss the wonderfully beautiful Bogisa island. Land tours in Gorontalo, kayaking and bird watching are other activities to do. For those who don't dive, there is snorkeling or the opportunity to learn to dive. With its wonderful location in North Sulawesi, you can experience magically beautiful sunsets here at Saronde island resort.

Diving with Blue Bay Divers on Saronde island
The resort's diving center offers day trips and courses on site. The diving center teaches PADI courses and for those who want to learn to dive, this is an absolutely wonderful place. You can get your diving certificate here in the calm lagoon and when you leave Saronde Island you have a diving certificate to experience other parts of the world below the surface. Diving takes place either directly outside at the resort's house reef or you go out by boat to one of all the dive sites in the area north of Gorontalo.
Fantastic dive sites and with good variety
Here you will find amazingly beautiful corals and gorgonians. Along with lots of soft corals that crackle in all the colors of the world. Steep walls alternate with coral gardens and sandy slopes.
Lots of invertebrates such as crustaceans, nudibranchs, flatworms, sponges, barnacles and anemones and much more. Inside the seagrass beds in shallower water you will find strange dur. Moray eels, bat fish, ghost pipe fish, frogfish, sea horses and much more. There are fantastically beautiful places to experience here.
For those who like to photograph under the surface, there are both good macro diving and places for wide angle. More and more people who like UV photography are looking for these parts of the world to experience the world's best and richest diving.
Saronde island Resort also offers whale shark diving. This is a day trip to an area most frequented by these giant fish. Encountering whale sharks in the open is an almost magical experience.
Skilled guides with an eye for fantastic critters
The guides are good at finding small, strange animal species or critters. But here you can also see shoals of tuna, batfish or barracuda occur frequently. Sometimes you can see passing turtles which is also common. With a bit of luck, you will also see eagle rays, mobulas, mantas and reef sharks or even bamboo sharks crawling on the bottom.
Of course you combine one liveaboard in Indonesia or other places in North Sulawesi or elsewhere and treat yourself to a few extra wonderfully lazy days on your diving trip.
