Egypt

Egypt

Egypt in the northeast corner of Africa is truly wonderful for a liveaboard. The Red Sea to the east and the Gulf of Aqaba to the northeast separate Egypt from Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The country's capital Cairo, Egypt's largest city and leading cultural center.

Egypt is the 30th largest country in the world by area. Due to the extremely dry climate, the population is entirely concentrated in the Nile Valley and its delta. This means that about 99% of the population uses about 5,5% of the total land area.andaThe real. It is the third most populous country in Africa and the 15th most populous in the world. Egypt currently has the second largest economy in Africa, with tourism being one of the most important sectors of the Egyptian economy.

Egypt has one of the longest histories of any country known to us. With roots along the Nile Delta dating back to 6000–4000 BC, ancient Egypt is considered the cradle of civilization. It was the site of some of the earliest developments in writing, agriculture, urbanization, organized religion, and central government.
The Sinai Peninsula has Egypt's highest mountain, Mount Catherine, which is 2,642 meters high, and the Nile River, which flows through the country from the south, is the world's longest river.

How much does a liveaboard to Egypt cost?

It is incredibly difficult to answer such a general question about how much a diving trip costs, more information is needed. A liveaboard diving trip to Egypt that includes flights, accommodation, transfers and diving normally costs from 25 – 30,000 SEK and upwards. The price can vary greatly depending on many factors. For some liveaboards and certain times of the year the price may be higher.
Sometimes you can find a great price on accommodation or remaining seats on a charter flight that can bring the price down, but for those who want to go on holiday and during the high season and plan well in advance, you should count on this price range, especially for good liveaboards that focus on safety, etc.andard and good service.

When is the best time to go to Egypt?

Egypt is truly a destination where you can go and dive all year round. No matter when you go, you will have great diving. The main difference is the temperature of the sea and marine life. The best time to dive in the Red Sea in Egypt is, according to many, or more generally, during the spring and autumn. Then you have a pleasant balance between warm water, excellent visibility and abundant marine life. Summer offers warmer water for those who prefer it, while winter can be chilly with potentially strong winds and colder nights. Some recommend dry suits during the winter, especially if you want to dive a lot.

o Spring, March – May
o Summer, June – August
o Autumn, September – November
o Winter, December – February

What can I see when I dive in Egypt?

Egypt and the Red Sea are known for their excellent visibility and clear, bright waters. The most popular marine species in Egypt are manta rays, sharks and especially the infamous reef shark which attracts many. Many of the outer reefs and marine parks are teeming with marine life and a multitude of species of coral, invertebrates and fish. Large animals are often seen including schools of hammerhead sharks and pods of dolphins.
Egypt is also well known for its wrecks. Few places offer so many wrecks and so easily accessible for diving, which attracts many people to these artificial reefs every year.

Where is the best diving in Egypt?

A liveaboard in the Red Sea and Egypt is normally what will give you the best diving. What sets them apart is often theandard and size. The liveaboards we work with are those we have visited ourselves and seen on site that safeguard safety, service and comfort.

For those who want to experience the best of Egyptian diving and really want to focus on your diving, you should definitely choose a liveaboard. It is worth noting that all liveaboards do not always match charter flights from Scandinavia but refer to regular flight solutions which may involve extra nights on site.

On board you will normally do two to four dives per day for a week and live on board the boat. Of course you have full board on board and can enjoy and relax.

When and where are liveaboards and safaris available in Egypt?

There are lots of liveaboards in Egypt and there are departures all year round. There are also a lot of different tours or safaris. Almost all safaris are usually done for seven nights but sometimes also nine to ten nights. Liveaboards are normally offered throughout the year. Some tours may have different names but have the same content. Many liveaboards have different names for their safaris. What is more general is that the focus is often on either wrecks or on reefs and large animals with diving in marine parks. It is still common for it to be a mix. The northern and southern parts have several different routes and safaris that can be done. Read more about our options. Of course, you can combine your liveaboard with any number of days at a hotel or dive resort. Contact us with your wishes on tel: 0301-22100

Extra nights on site

Flights and liveaboards don't always match up, so you should allow for flight or baggage delays. It's also about convenience. Depending on your flight times, you may need to stay an extra night before your liveaboard departs, and sometimes even after. Charter flights, for example, don't operate during certain times of the year, making regular flight solutions absolutely necessary.
Our staff in Egypt will assist you on site with transfers, visas and more.

If you have not logged any dives in the past year, we recommend that you do a de-rusting dive before departure. A liveaboard in Egypt can sometimes be demanding, which is why these rules exist. Many times the requirements for you as a diver are more about recommendations. The Red Sea can be currents and big waves. This is so that the dive guides in Egypt can give everyone the same amount of attention. They want to be able to keep track of the dive group, which is why these requirements and recommendations exist. If you are unsure whether you can go on a trip, contact us and we will check with Egypt. Many times they say yes if, for example, you dive with someone who is very experienced and can help you on site.

Some tours also require a certain number of logged dives to join, so it is important that we know your diving experience so we can recommend tours that are right for you.
