On Faial Island, Hotel Faial Garden is within walking distance of the historic parts of the island. This is a lovely resort hotel and the hotel has just over 120 rooms. The hotel also has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna available. You eat breakfast in the hotel's breakfast room. On Faial Island and Hotel Faial Garden you can experience and enjoy life around the marina on a daily basis. The fresh air from the Atlantic really sweeps you in and provides pleasant relaxation.

The dive center is close to the hotel so it's just a short walk in the morning before the day's activities at sea begin. Unfortunately there are none liveaboard in this area (yet) but it is diving from smaller boats and accommodation on land that applies to a diving trip to the Azores.

Dive Center – Haliotis

Halioti's diving center is right next to the hotel and the staff are experienced and know the dive sites well. The dive center offers good service and they have several boats and equipment that is very well maintained. The dive sites are relatively close to the marina. Here you will experience diving with different kinds of crustaceans including the strange bear lobster. There are also seahorses, moray eels, sea bass, shoals of fish, octopuses, turtles, nudibranchs and much more.

The RIB boats used here are designed for diving and they take a maximum of 12 divers on day trips. Diving on the Pontao 16 wreck and various reefs around Faial is offered daily. The popular day trips to Princess Alice and Blue shark Point are also available for those who are a little more experienced. There you often see blue sharks, sometimes with luck also mako sharks and often shoals of mobulas. Here on Faial Island there is also diving at the top of the volcano and the nature reserve Boda dad Caldeirihas can be experienced here.

The diving is generally quite easy in the Azores but there can be currents. It is therefore important that you have good control over your balance here. You really dive in the middle of the blue a lot of times and the visibility can be downright dizzying. Contact us to book your holiday and diving trip to the Azores.
