Daedalus, Rocky and Zabargad liveaboard with diving in Egypt is unfortunately a tour that does not run very often. However, it is one of the Red Sea's most exciting liveaboard and diving safaris you can do as a diving trip. Weather and different conditions for getting to these remote reefs often come into play. The first major destination of your diving trip is Daedalus. It is an isolated reef, which is also known as Abu el-Kizan, It is located about halfway to Saudi Arabia from the Egyptian coast or about 80 kilometers out. From here the route continues south to Rocky Island and Zabargad. These two islands are only a few kilometers north of the border with Sudan and offers absolutely magnificent diving. Large overhangs combined with lagoons and surrounded by a beautiful turquoise sea.

You must have at least 50 logged dives to join this tour. It's good if you feel comfortable with balancing and sometimes running water. Night diving within national parks is not permitted. This combined with the fact that there can often be strong currents in the area means that there are often only three dives per day offered during your Daedalus, Rocky, Zabargad liveaboard.

Highlights on your liveaboard and diving trip

Around Daedalus you dive on walls covered in colorful soft and hard corals. Together with gorgonians, whip corals and various sponges, you have a color palette that is hard to beat in the Red Sea. Here, along the steep walls, you can see schools of barracuda, tuna, rainbow fish and often several species of shark. Gray reef shark and whitetip reef shark are the most common. With a bit of luck, hammerhead sharks, thresher sharks, silk sharks, tiger sharks, fin sharks, manta rays, dolphins or whale shark. There is also an outstanding garden filled with beautiful anemones and clown fish.

Out at Rocky Island, the walls plunge almost straight into the deep sea and tall horn corals grow on them. Here there are several large caves with overhangs that form perfect haunts for divers who can lie still and watch various passing sharks and pelagic animals.

Zabargad is a large island with an incredibly beautiful turquoise blue lagoon. On the south side there is a sandy slope that leads down to a steep wall where you can see manta rays and hammerhead sharks that often circulate out in the big blue. Around the island there are also several wrecks and several of them have not yet been identified. Daedalus, Rocky and Zabargad liveaboard in Egypt and the Red Sea offer some of Egypt's best diving and are well worth a try. This the liveaboard tour often fills up quickly and well in advance the few times they run each year so book in time.

The tours in the southern Red Sea go by many names and the tours are often very similar. Depending on the season, weather and liveaboard operator, the tours may be called differently but the content is often quite similar.
