The Junk Liveaboard in Thailand

The Junk liveaboard in Thailand, or June Hong Chian Lee, which is her real name, is a historic 33 meter vessel that offers liveaboard diving trips in Thailand. She was originally built in 1962 as a sailing freighter. She was completely renovated and rebuilt in 1997 to the liveaboard she is today. The Junk is a three-masted ship (djunk) with 330 square meters of sails that are both functional and beautiful and she is built in teak.

The Junk Liveaboard in Thailand can take up to a total of 18 divers on board. Accommodation is available in two flexible double cabins that can be converted to either single beds or double beds. There are two triple cabins and two four-bed cabins. They have room for up to four divers in two bunk beds. All cabins have air conditioning, a fan and a private bathroom.

The spacious and air-conditioned saloon is furnished with hand-carved shelves, drawers and cupboards. Behind the doors you will find the entertainment on board. You and other guests can choose from a library of books, videos and discs to keep you entertained between dives. A large TV is available while you relax in the lounge after your dives.

Very good food and nice relaxation

The food on board The Junk is really good. A large selection of dishes is served here, ranging from Asian to more Western dishes. In addition to the regular meals, there is always fresh fruit and extra snacks available. Meals are served in the saloon and here you have a view of the surrounding seas while you and all the guests eat. A large diving and leisure deck provides plenty of space to put on gear and relax. Underwater photographers and videographers will appreciate the large flush tanks and designated areas for loading and gear preparation.

For those who want to experience diving in the Andaman Sea in Thailand aboard a liveaboard and dive in places such as the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, the Surin Islands, Richelieu rock, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang and more, The Junk Liveaboard in Thailand is a nice option when you are looking for a slightly higher standard.
