Highlights
The "South Central" safari includes very exciting diving where you travel through the central and southern atolls of the country. The route provides incredible variety and offers diving in the Maldives of a very high class.
This diving safari begins in South Malé Atoll with fine macro diving, Kuda Giri Wreck and the most challenging dive site in the area, Kandooma Thila, which always offers exciting diving. Here there is often a current but also often very large fish.
Then Vaavu atoll follows and a night dive at fantastic Alimatha is of course an obvious stop. A very popular dive site for night dives. The spectacle of nurse sharks and stingrays is something you won't soon forget. Meemu atoll offers beautiful wall dives, lots of fish and a really nice dive with manta rays. The route then continues south with a focus on hair also in Thaa atoll where hammerheads and whale sharks are frequent.
The trip ends in Laamu atoll, an atoll that offers exciting current dives in channels with very good conditions for seeing pelagic fish. For example, hammerhead sharks, reef sharks, whale sharks, manta rays and eagle rays. The "South Central" route is filled with excitement and a lot of challenging diving. As a diver, you should be used to and appreciate diving in strong currents.
