Fiji's garden island and rainbow reef

Much of Taveuni's coastline is karst and lies against some of Fiji's highest mountain peaks. Des Voeux Peak reaches up to 1195 meters and the cloud-covered mountain Uluiqalau is, with its 1241 meters, the country's second highest peak. Here you have some of Fiji's best views. Something that makes Taveuni an excellent destination for those who like to hike. Covered in coconut trees, Taveuni is known as Fiji's Garden Island due to its abundant flora. About 60 percent of the island is tropical rainforest and the volcanic soil makes Taveuni one of Fiji's most fertile areas. Hence the name "Fiji's garden island".

While the northeastern part of Taveuni is lined with reefs, the southwestern part has deep water close to the coast. Taveuni island, which is free of poisonous snakes and spiders, is also a birdwatcher's dream. With the world-famous Rainbow Reef just a short boat ride away, Paradise offers some of the best diving in the world. Fiji is known as "The Soft Coral Capital of the World" and here you will experience some of the most memorable coral reefs of your life.

For those who want to experience that part of paradise, this is a wonderful place. Here you have great diving, snorkeling, romance, adventure and relaxation. Contact us for your diving trip we will arrange this as part of your holiday.

Rainbow Reef is a 32 km long reef in the Somosomo Strait between the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu. It is only a 20-30 minute boat ride from Paradise Taveuni resort. It is one of the most famous dive sites in the South Pacific. The Great White Wall, on the legendary Rainbow Reef is one of the world's most talked about dive sites. The name is due to the white corals that spread out on the rock wall between 15 and 65 meters.

Here are some of the best dive boats in Fiji (some guests say they are the best they have been on). The boat Taveuni Explorer takes up to 26 divers and crew. On board there is a kitchenette, bathroom, shower. The slightly smaller boat Lady Paradise has room for 12 divers and crew. With a total of 38 divers, Paradise is the ideal destination for diving groups. The dive center has an air-conditioned camera room for dedicated underwater photographers where you can rinse, clean and charge your camera. There is also nitrox for you who are certified or why not take a nitrox course.

Manta rays, pilot whales and humpback whales

Manta rays and pilot whales are often seen on the boat trip to and from the dive sites. Often the boats stop so you can get in and swim with these wild, amazing animals. The tuber selection season is June-September each year. Then you can meet these beautiful animals as they walk with their new calves from the dive boat and also see them directly from the promenade.

Paradise Taveuni is the only resort on Taveuni that offers free shore diving in Fiji when you pre-book a dive package. Experience the abundance of fish and marine life. Here you will see anemone fish, Maori wrasse, dragon fish, reef sharks, rays, turtles, octopus, garden eels, blue ribbon eels, ghost pipefish, moray eels and much, much more.

With its wide variety of different deep wall and shallow current dives, there is something for all divers. Whether you are just starting to learn or have been a diver all your life, Paradise will offer you many opportunities to explore Fiji's amazing underwater life. Unfortunately, some do not work liveaboard here frequently longer but the diving is so good with accommodation from land that you will fully enjoy your diving trip to Fiji.
