Spice Island resort in Indonesia on the island of Halmahera is surrounded by beautiful nature. The resort is located right on the edge of the jungle and directly on a bright sandy beach. This is a real dream! There are 16 spacious bungalows here. 12 are beach bungalows and 4 are superior bungalows. They are all just a stone's throw from the beach and have wonderful views. Each bungalow can accommodate 2 people (a 3rd person on request). All the bungalows are air-conditioned and have a terrace. There is a small bar next to the restaurant. Perfect place for the deco beer.

Directly in front of the resort is a fantastic house reef, where you can dive directly from the jetty. It is also very suitable for snorkelers (swimming shoes or boots are recommended though).
The well-equipped diving center is just a few steps from the jetty. Wifi is available free of charge at the facility.

In addition to diving and snorkeling, interesting land tours are also offered here. Even non-divers get great value here because not only the nature is unique. The region's 300-year history is also exciting. Nestled between the island's interior jungle and the sea, it is home to many rare birds. At the Spice island resort in Indonesia, various massage treatments are offered by trained staff for a fee. A relaxing massage is the ideal end to an eventful day. The restaurant at the resort has a unique design and is located right next to the reception. It has been built exclusively with natural materials. You can choose between half or full board here in your diving package. Here there is a rich selection of Indonesian and international dishes. Breakfast and lunch are served à la carte. Different menus are available for the evening meal. For those who love fresh fish, you will get value for your money. Buffet and barbecue evenings take place regularly. Drinking water is free with meals.

To make your diving trip ultimate, we recommend you combine with one live board. A variety of tours are offered here in Indonesia. There are tours that go over four up to eleven nights. There are almost no other liveaboards near Halmahera yet. You will be mostly alone at the fish-rich dive sites – great diving guaranteed!

Diving with Extra Divers

Extra Diver's diving center is located directly at the resort's jetty. These untouched parts of Indonesia and the Moluccas will make your diving heart beat faster. Here you can experience both macro and large fish. You can dive directly at the house reef, take boat trips and minibus excursions to the Magic Jetty dive site. All the dives here are really good. The diving center has 12 and 15 liter bottles, 2 diving boats and nitrox is available as an option.

Husrevet has a jetty that makes it easy to get in and out. There are more than 40 pristine dive sites, all within a 10-20 minute boat ride from the resort. Diving takes place in small groups with a maximum of 4 divers per guide. In addition to easy diving dive sites with macro and coral gardens, there is also diving in canals. Here there are strong currents with good chances of seeing big fish.

Very varied diving

The diving is very varied and here there are fantastic coral reefs, walls, slopes. A paradise for wide-angle as well as macro photography. Here in the region, different types of reef sharks can often pass. Other sharks such as hammerhead sharks, wobbegongs but also small sharks such as catsharks and epaulette sharks are sometimes seen. They are also called walking sharks, one species of which is completely endemic to Halmahera.

Here you can also see and dive with different species of rays. Stingrays, eagle rays and mantas or mobulas are all relatively common. It is also common to see turtles here and sometimes dolphins are also seen who live here more or less all year round. The macro life is fabulous and here it teems with different species of crustaceans in all kinds of colors and shapes.

For those of you who like macro, here you have lots of different nudibranchs in all the colors of the rainbow. Also squids, strange species of scorpionfish and dragonfish and waspfish. Different species of seahorses, pipefish, ghostpipefish, frogfish and much much more. For those looking for top-class diving, this region in the Moluccas is definitely worth a visit. Although it has not yet become so well known and exploited.
