Bali's best diving 2025, round trips 12 nights – Dive Safaris
You can experience Bali's best diving in 2025 by going on a safari. These are specially composed tours that run all year round but we have picked a selection here with dates and content. The diving in Bali is very good and for those who like macro, with strange octopuses, nudibranchs, crustaceans, ghost pipefish, frogfish and other strange, colorful and fun marine life a real diving paradise. During parts of the year you regularly see lumpfish or mola mola (English sunfish) and manta rays are very common in some places. There are also other species of rays, lots of fish and colorful coral reefs interspersed with occasional wrecks.
We have put together three different suggestions and these are trips you do on your own with our very skilled dive centers on site in Bali. We have round trips with 12 nights on site but different numbers of diving days. Choose what suits you best and then you who don't want to dive max can choose to stay longer or shorter.
We have named the packages, Holiday, Paradise and “All in”.

About Bali and diving
Menjangan (All in, Paradise): Menjangan Island is part of the West Bali National Park and is known for its coral walls with easy conditions, warm water and good visibility that can reach 50 meters and more. The white sand and good visibility mean that usually in a lot of sunlight it highlights the bright colors of the fish and schools that surround you. The walls are covered with a variety of gorgonian or fan corals, soft corals and sponges.
Puri Jati (All in, Paradise): For those of you who have wondered but haven't tried it yet and for those of you who love it: Puri Jati, or PJ,
is Bali's real hotspot for muck diving or macro diving! Visibility here varies between 3-25 meters. A wide, soft, shallow slope of brown sand that slopes steeply a bit further out. Here in the sand that is filled with seaweed and tufts of lavender soft corals hide nudibranchs, scorpionfish, frogfish, ghost pipefish, young batfish and dragonfish, rare fish, crustaceans, octopuses (including Wonderpus, Blue-ring and Mimic octopus) and fascinating sand-dwelling animals. A very special dive site where one dive is never the same as the next.
World famous diving site (All in and Paradise)
Tulamben Bay (All in, Paradise): Bali's world-famous dive site with the 120-meter long USAT Liberty Shipwreck (possibly the world's easiest wreck dive); The Drop-off/Wall, an old lava flow from Mount Agung, at the opposite end of the bay from the wreck (about a 10-minute walk between the two sites), and Coral Garden, a shallow reef that runs along the middle of Tulamben Beach. Tulamben Bay offers incredible shore diving with very easy conditions - perfect for divers of all levels.
Amed (All in, Holiday): The sites around Amed, including the 20-metre Japanese wreck, offer a wide variety of sponges and gorgonians and marine life ranging from whitetip reef sharks, napoleon fish, occasional large trevallies, butterflyfish, bannerfish, snappers, fusiliers and triggerfish to butterfish and shrimps as well as anemones with associated clownfish. Schools of barracuda and blue-spotted rays are also occasionally seen here. Many different types of parrotfish, angelfish, surgeonfish and moray eels.
All-inclusive and Holidays
Nusa penida incl Manta Point (All in, Holiday): Nusa Penida is the largest of three islands off the east coast of Bali and offers fantastic drift diving. Due to the ocean currents, the water here is quite cold but often astonishingly clear, with some impressive coral formations and an abundance of fish, the occasional turtle, sharks and from mid-July to November each year normally, Mola-Mola (lumpfish or sunfish). Both Manta Points have mantas all year round.
Mimpang/Tepekong (All in, Holiday): Amuk Bay has some of Bali's best diving. Mimpang are three cliff tops that break the surface; the southern, deeper area offers a spectacular wall with abundant coral, many fish and sometimes pelagic species. The breathtaking dive at Tepekong, a 300m long cliff, has steep walls, cold water and some currents. In the famous Canyon, with its swirling water and dramatic cliff walls, you can see schools of fish, possibly Mola-Mola (in season), white-tip reef sharks and turtles.
Blue Lagoon (All in, Holiday): A small bay with a steep white sand beach just outside Padangbai. The white sandy bottom, which slopes gradually to just over 20 metres, has scattered rocks, soft corals and a large area of Staghorn coral. The smaller fish life here is fantastic. There are also often large Napoleon fish, several types of reef sharks, stonefish, nudibranchs, rays, octopus, ribbon eels and moray eels, stargazers, crocodile fish and leafy scorpionfish in all shades.
Unique dive sites (All-in and Holiday)
Gili Biaha (All in, Holiday): Scuba Travel's Bali partner is one of only a few companies offering diving trips to this small crescent-shaped island. It has some of Bali's most amazing dive sites: large numbers and diversity of fish, abundant sharks and frequent pelagic visitors, against black walls with beautiful, healthy coral and often very good visibility. There is a beautiful and healthy reef around the island, a rocky slope on the north side and a rugged black wall around the south.
Gili Trawangan (All in, Holiday): This small island on the eastern tip of Bali offers both sheltered reef diving and current diving with slightly larger fish. The interesting and rich sand slope to the north of the island has some stands of hard branching corals and occasional bommies, the deeper areas of the slope are more sheltered and therefore home to fan corals or gorgonians, soft corals, sponges and bushes of black coral.
