How do I get a diving certificate abroad?

You can easily get your diving certificate and learn to dive abroad on your own or on one of our group trips. There are many advantages to taking a diving trip and getting your diving certificate abroad. The major diving organizations have the same training wherever you take your diving course. Advantages of learning to dive abroad.

It's warm water when you dive abroad
One advantage of a diving trip and getting your diving certificate abroad is that you get to dive in warm water. This makes it easier to relax and makes all your exercises easier and faster.

You usually have good visibility.
Abroad, visibility (how far you can see below the surface – horizontally) is often better than in our seas in Sweden. And if you can see better, you will be able to relax more easily and enjoy diving much faster. You will also see more of the marine life.

Less equipment required
In warm water you don't need as much protection against the cold. A wetsuit is enough. You don't need a hood and gloves that restrict your mobility. You feel much more agile than if you have to wear full equipment against cold water.
You do the entire course at once
If you go on a diving trip and get your diving certificate abroad on your holiday, you can do your entire diving course at once and can immediately apply what you have learned to your theory and practical lessons. This often works a little better than having to wait a week or two between each dive.

Full course or so-called referral

You have a pair different possibilities when you want to take a diving course abroad.

Take the entire course on-site abroad.
Do some at home in Sweden and the rest, the so-called outdoor dives, abroad (referral).

The entire diving course for diving certificates abroad:
You book your trip with us where we include your entire diving course so that you can get your diving certificate. You start the course as soon as possible when you arrive at your destination. The basic course normally takes 3-5 days to complete and after passing the course you will receive an international diving certificate.
Tip!: – Feel free to do a few more dives after the course. The more you dive, the safer and more comfortable you will become.

Referral:
If you don't have time to take a full course, or want to catch up on more diving after the course, you can make a so-called referral.
Then you do all the theory, your final exam and all the so-called pool dives where you practice practically at home with an instructor at a local dive center, after which you receive a completed form - a referral, i.e. you are passed on.
You leave this form at the dive center at your destination and there you do the part of the course that consists of diving in the sea, outdoor diving or “Open water”.
Please note that you must complete the course in the same training system throughout. You cannot switch between different training systems. Ask your instructor in Sweden about this so you book the right course if you are making a referral. It may also determine which places you can go to that have the same training to continue on site.

What is included in a diving trip and diving course when you take a diving certificate abroad?

Your course includes course materials, complete diving equipment during the course and after completing and passing the course, an international diving certificate. During your diving course, you will have theory interspersed with practical exercises in a pool or protected water. To conclude, you tie everything together with four dives in the sea.

Further training on a diving trip abroad

You have a fantastic opportunity to take advanced courses abroad. Some special courses are suitable for cold water, others for warm water. If you want to learn to dive in current water, you should obviously do it where there are currents. If you want to learn about animals and fish, you do best where the species richness is great.
