Experience - Diving trip with Anders Salesjö to the lovely Philippines. Malapascua and Southern Leyte are located in the central and eastern parts of the Philippines. Malapascua has managed to build up a reputation both for divers and backpackers and mainly the magical fox sharks or thresher sharks have made the place almost mythical. Southern Leyte is not yet that developed for diving and mass tourism has not yet found its way here. The area around Sogod Bay is known for whale sharks in season and other cartilaginous fish are also regularly seen here such as manta rays and sometimes also hammerhead sharks, reef sharks and lots of other fish.
The diving at the various sites is done from a traditional Filipino bangka boat and is simple. Tank and weights are included and we have booked 22 dives in advance with 10 at Malapascua + 12 dives in Södra Leyte* at the various locations. More diving can of course be booked on site. * – of which 2 night dives
One of the world's most beautiful coral walls is here at Southern Leyte and the Napantao dive site, pure magic! The thresher sharks at Kimod shoal in Malapascua are an almost magical experience that should be on every diver's wish list. At Southern Leyte, we will of course follow up on the coral planting project that we have been involved in before and which was very much appreciated.
On the trip you will dive and experience the animals on the coral reefs. At the same time you will also have the opportunity to learn more about the corals and other animals you see. Our Ambassador Anders Salesjö will hold regular gatherings where he will show pictures and tell more about the animals below the surface. If you are an underwater photographer and want help with lens selection and camera settings, etc., Anders is always at hand
NOTE Note – The price of the trip is a very rough estimate in February 2024 based on prices we can relate to for 2025. The price may be adjusted for 2027 depending on foreign operators' price changes, flight prices and exchange rates. Only fully paid arrangements guarantee a fixed price

On this diving trip to the Philippines, Anders Salesjö, who is a marine biologist and underwater photographer and works as a marine biology teacher, will take you with him. He is extremely curious about the wildlife below the surface and never gets tired of being down there with his camera. He is also passionate about sharing his experiences from the underwater world with others. Anders believes that it is very important to spread knowledge about life below the surface.
You start your journey by flying to Cebu City and here you will take out your luggage and go through immigration and then have a night there to catch up with the time zone and rest up after a long journey. The next day we take you on to Malapascua and experience the diving at this lovely island. After Malapascua it will be a trip to Southern Leyte and experience the tranquility and the fine reefs and the exciting marine life.
In both places you have breakfast included during the stay and a diving package with 10 + 12 dives pre-booked. After a total of 12 nights of accommodation and hopefully lots of new experiences and filled with new knowledge, we will make our way back to Manila to rebook an international flight and travel back to Scandinavia.
During your dive you will have the chance to experience a lot such as thresher sharks, reef sharks, pygmy seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, scorpion fish, nudibranchs, moray eels, octopuses, turtles, beautiful reefs, magical coral walls and lots of other fish. Join me for what I call a bit of the unknown or as yet unexploited Philippines,
