With such a large variety of fish and coral species and more species than anywhere else on earth, Raja Ampat is a destination that every diver should have on their "bucket list".
Here you will dive at cleaning stations where mantas come for daily visits. Discover wobbegongs or carpet sharks lurking under overhangs and in the evenings or nights you may see epaulette sharks. A small species of shark that “walks” over the coral reef. In English they are often called “walking sharks” and there are five different species here in Raja Ampat, a couple of which are endemic.
Lovely diving spots and good accommodation
The dive sites are varied with unique environments. There is a rich macrolife here. Everything from mandaRhinoceros, pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, various species of crustaceans, colorful flatworms and lots of coral. Sometimes schools of sweetlips, horse mackerel, barracuda and leatherbacks pass out in the blue or along the bottom and coral walls.
Turtles, manta rays, stingrays, wrasses and other larger fish are often seen at various dive sites. As the coastal and marine area of Raja Ampat has become Indonesia's first shark and manta reserve, the population has also realized that big game is more valuable alive than harvested. Over four million hectares are now marine reserves.

To participate in this trip you must have at least 75 dives and be certified as at least an Advance Open Water diver.
If you have 50-75 logged dives, you can go along if you either pay extra for a dive guide or have an instructor on the trip who dives with you. This is for your own sake and a requirement from the liveaboard and so that you get the most out of the trip. The diving can vary from calm dives to dives with strong currents. If you yourself or the dive leader feel that you are not able to cope with strong currents, you will be asked to stand over those dives to increase your safety and comfort.
Your accommodation - Liveaboard
On your diving trip you will go with a lovely liveaboard and discover parts of the amazing reefs of Raja Ampat. On board you will enjoy views of the ocean and the green islands combined with relaxation, good food and experiencing the amazing world of Raja Ampat below the surface.
Itinerary day by day
Day 1
You leave Scandinavia and fly to Jakarta in Indonesia.
Day 2
Travelandain Jakarta and here it is immigration and baggage claim and then with a few hours* between flights new check-in and a few hours later leave for New Guinea at midnight. * We actually recommend leaving a day earlier and spending a night in Jakarta. Let us know if you wish this instead.
Day 3
TravelandaEarly in the morning in New Guinea and at Sorong airport you will be met and then transferred to your liveaboard for further adventures. On board you will receive a briefing on what will happen in the coming days and will be asked to show your diving certificates and such and fill out paperwork stating that you are in shape for diving.
Day 3 - 10
Here you have seven nights on board and of course full board is included on board. You will dive two to four dives a day and experience fantastic environments. The last day (day 9) is offered a maximum of one to two dives as you will fly the next day. You are back in Sorong in the afternoon and the last night is spent in port before returning home.
Day 10
Last morning in place before you have a transfer to the airport and fly back home to Scandinavia or, for those of you who have chosen to continue the adventure, go somewhere else.

Our solid program is only a preliminary plan that is influenced based on the external conditions that the weather gods reward us with. This means that we may have to move activities and dive sites to other days and also replace planned activities with alternatives if required. Your expedition leader is there to make sure you get the most out of your particular trip.
