Solar Eclipse Liveaboard in the Southern Red Sea – A special trip to Egypt and the Southern Red Sea at the end that we check for “Super Diversity”. The route is planned and designed for a single day at sea really. On August 2nd, 2027, a total solar eclipse will occur over the Red Sea for over 5 minutes. Here you have the chance to experience it on board a liveaboard.
We can say that basically all boats are already booked for this day in 2025. However, we have managed to get hold of a liveaboard with space on board. The first bookings are already complete.
Daedalus which is known for large marine species where you often see sharks. Fury Shoals and St Johns have some of Egypt's best coral reefs to offer.
In addition to a rich marine life with good chances of seeing different species of sharks and rays, there will be a total solar eclipse when you are on board a liveaboard in the Red Sea. There will naturally be a lot of boats in this area to be as close to the centerline for maximum experience.

Take the chance to experience something truly unique. Please note that we do not reserve seats so it is truly first come, first served. Flight prices are not yet available but will be available from early September 2026.
On board the Hammerhead II liveaboard you will enjoy large, generous spaces and comfortable accommodation. Of course, full board is included on board. The route will be adjusted as it goes. The only thing that is certain is that St Johns will be the main location on August 02nd.

Previous knowledge – For this tour you should have 30-50 logged dives. You do not need more than a basic certificate to dive, but we still recommend that you have PADI Advanced or equivalent for this tour to get the most out of your diving trip.

The diving
This week is filled with diving on amazing reefs, large exciting wrecks and dramatic reef systems with tunnels and caves. Experience the fantastic play of light in this part of the Red Sea and let yourself be enchanted by the reefs and marine life. For those who have a little more experience and want to experience a liveaboard and diving trip to the northern parts of the Red Sea (Egypt) with experienced dive guides, this trip is a real experience! Non-stop flights from to Egypt and from the airport transfer directly to your liveaboard - Take the chance and experience a magical week in the Red Sea as November descends on the Nordics. Exciting wrecks such as the Thistlegorm, Chrisoula, Kimon and more, plus fascinating marine life.
Hammerhead II is a 43-meter long boat that can accommodate up to 32 guests in 16 double cabins. All cabins have their own bathroom and of course air conditioning. The salon is spacious and is equipped with a TV, DVD and sound system. The dive deck offers plenty of space and there is also an inviting sun deck to relax on.
Nitrox is available on board for an additional fee for those who are nitrox certified. Please note that flights, hotel accommodations, transfers and marine park fees are added to the price of the trip.
Your accommodation
On your dive trip you will stay aboard a large boat, Hammerhead II which is a large liveaboard in the Red Sea and offers very high standardandard. Here you have plenty of space, a large spacious dive deck, sun deck at the top, a wonderfully inviting salon and of course air conditioning in all cabins which offer plenty of space. Of course you have full board during the trip.

Our program is only a preliminary plan that is influenced by the external conditions that the weather gods reward us with. This means that we may need to move activities and dive sites to other days and also replace planned activities with alternatives if necessary. Some flight schedules may require 1 night before and/or 1 night after the liveaboard in Hurghada. We ask that you be flexible.
