Discover North Sulawesi in Indonesia with Stefan and Klas, a fantastic diving trip to an enchanting world.

This is a diving trip that takes you straight into some of the world's most species-rich and fascinating underwater environments. In October 2027, you will travel with two ambassadors, Stefan Beskow and Klas Malmberg to Bangka Island and then on to the almost mythical Lembeh Straits. Two places that have forever been written into diving history. Because they have such incredible variety and completely different and unique characters, this will be a very exciting dive trip.

Come to the epicenter of the world's marine diversity and discover magical northern Sulawesi.

You start this diving trip with Stefan and Klas with the wonderful Bangka Island on the northern tip of this large island where you have an absolutely magical underwater scene. Here you dive into a world of crystal clear water. Intense colors and coral gardens that stretch out in all directions. Since Bangka offers mainly classic reef diving, but with an energy and species richness, you get a broad and exciting experience. Bangka is one of the Manado region's most beloved dive sites.

The contrast between Bangka and Lembeh forms a natural and inspiring whole and Lembeh is an area that many consider to be the very heart of the world of macro diving. Here, on the black lava sands, an underwater world awaits that is as strange as it is magical. As it was almost the birthplace of muck diving, after PNG, Lembeh developed into a global sensation. Every dive is a journey of discovery where small details suddenly become the main attraction.

Up close you will meet mimic octopus that changes shape in the sand. Strange frogfish that move almost invisibly along the bottom. Pygmy seahorses, small as risques. But here there are infinitely many more strange creatures that Lembeh is known as one of the most unique marine places on the planet. Come along and discover the enchanting world below the surface in northern Sulawesi in the fall of 2027. Stefan and Klas will take you on an incredible adventure.

The diving

Bangka

Diving around Bangka Island in North Sulawesi is varied and the marine life is very rich. Here you will find everything from nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and other macro life to whales, dolphins, dugongs and other large things that can appear out at the islands or on the way there. The water temperature is around 27-30 degrees all year round and there is something for everyone here. Wall diving, stream diving, muck diving, easier reef diving, occasional wrecks and opportunities to see different sized sharks that patrol these waters. Bangka Island in North Sulawesi is for you who have a little more experience and are comfortable diving in current in water and who have dived and seen a lot of other things in Indonesia and feel it is time for something new.

The macro diving is also fantastic here at Bangka Island. Up here at the northern islands there are often currents and sometimes even really strong currents. This also brings a lot of fish and fantastically beautiful corals.

Lembeh Straits

The diving in Lembeh Straits is perhaps the world's most famous and talked about when it comes to muck diving. Here you are first met by what appears to be deserted sand and mud bottoms, but you soon realise that this is a hiding place for some of the sea's most strange and fascinating creatures. Hidden in the black lava sand is everything from perfectly camouflaged fish to small invertebrates that are so well adapted to the environment that you almost miss them at first glance. And although muck diving is the focus, it sometimes happens that larger visitors find their way into the strait - mantas, mobulas, eagle rays, dolphins and even whale sharks can appear as unexpected surprises that add an extra touch of charm to the experience.
