As the world changes and certain flight routes do the same, it’s natural to wonder where to travel right now. But the world of diving is still open, accessible and safe to explore. Airlines are adjusting their routes and we at Scuba Travel continue to take travelers to diving destinations around the world. Which means you don’t have to put your travel plans on hold. The question is therefore not whether you can travel, but where you want to go on your next diving trip in 2026 and beyond.
Europe
Europe is one of the most stable choices right now, with Malta, Gozo and Croatia continue to be as accessible as before. Here, the flight routes are entirely within Europe, meaning that travel is not affected by rerouting further east.
Malta and Gozo beckons with its bright caves, iconic wrecks and crystal clear waters where diving is often as relaxed as it is spectacular. Croatia offers the rock formations of the Adriatic Sea and clear visibility. Perfect for those who want to travel safely but still get the feeling of adventure.
Africa
Further south awaits Egypt, one of the world's most reliable diving destinations. The Red Sea reefs do not move in step with the world situation, they continue to vibrate with life, color and current. Air traffic to Egypt operates stably via European hubs and both liveaboards and land-based dive trips continue as usual. If you want magnificent wall dives, close contact with turtles and the classic feeling of "coming home" to the diving epicenter, Egypt is hard to beat.
At the same time, it offers Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa a different kind of adventure. Here you will encounter the world of sharks, manta rays sweeping through the currents and an underwater life that feels as raw as it is untouched. The flight routes there run via established European and African corridors, which means that travel here is also safe.
The Caribbean
The Caribbean is completely outside the areas where airspace has changed, which makes Bonaire and Mexico to two of the most stable and accessible dive destinations right now. On Bonaire, shore diving is a lifestyle where you set your own pace, and the health of the reefs and easy access are one of the reasons so many return year after year. Mexico continues to deliver variety at the absolute top level. Crystal-clear freshwater cenotes, Cozumel's coral reefs and Yucatán's wildlife make diving always feel alive and varied. Flights westward mean that travel there is as stable as before.
Asia
In Asia, diving trips are working just as well as they have in recent years. Indonesia is still a dream destination for divers looking for more than just beautiful reefs. It's all about world-class biodiversity. Raja Ampat, Komodo, Bali and Sulawesi deliver experiences where every dive offers something new. The journey here can sometimes take a slight detour as airlines choose alternative routes north or south of the Middle East. But safety remains unchanged and the destinations continue to flourish.
Philippines is equally accessible and safe, with its unique macrolife, colorful coral reefs and hospitable culture creating a combination that few divers can resist.
