Ambon and Raja Ampat in Indonesia Liveaboard in November 2025. With Magnus Lundgren
4 places left!

The small island of Ambon in Indonesia is a unique place and offers some of the best macro diving in the world. Along the outer side of the island there are also fantastic world-class reefs and corals. Few places in the world have such a mystique as Ambon. From Ambon you then travel through the Indonesian archipelago north towards the mythical Raja Ampat. An absolute "must-see" at some point in your life. No other place has such a rich marine life in terms of fish species but here is also a paradise for corals and invertebrates.
Go on a liveaboard with Magnus Lundgren in November 2025 and experience this fabulous marine world. The species richness is enormous and there is a lot to experience here, regardless of whether you like small strange animals on a macro level or larger animals. The area from the Moluccas and north today offers one of the last outposts and is a metropolis of marine biodiversity.

Diving deluxe and UV photo - You will travel to Indonesia in autumn 2025 and have the opportunity to experience these fantastic reefs and diving waters before the boat continues for its season in Raja Ampat. A maximum of 16 people can fit on this liveaboard and diving trip together with Scuba Travel's ambassador Magnus Lundgren. You will start in Ambon which is in the southern part of the Moluccas, or Spice Islands. Your liveaboard then continues northeast towards Raja Ampat and the western tip of the island of New Guinea.

Scattered like emeralds in a deep blue sea are islands and reefs in the middle of nowhere and the diving is fantastic. Ambon has some of the world's best macro diving inside the bay that the island forms, but on the outside there are also very nice reefs where sometimes large shoals of fish come. The reefs in Raja Ampat are in some places among the best you can experience in the world.

Your accommodation on the trip - Your liveaboard Anything will be your home on this trip. On board you enjoy full board and during the day diving is valid for the entire penny. The boat maintains a good standard and takes a total of 16 guests spread over 8 cabins. Air conditioning is available on board and the food is good and varied. During your days on board you will enjoy yourself to the fullest.

Extension - After your exotic liveaboard tour, you will have the opportunity to extend a few days and start diving in Ambon. Here you live directly by the sea and the house reef is good enough to experience a lot, but of course you go and visit other places. At your dive resort you will have full board and enjoy peace and quiet and time to experience absolutely magical macro diving. Number of days here is under planning but we recommend 4 nights with 3 full diving days.

Who's going on the trip? - Your ambassador on the trip is Magnus Lundgren who has been to Indonesia quite a bit and has been on board the boat on several occasions. Magnus will take you on a real adventure that few have done over the years. He has extensive diving and travel experience and has been to Indonesia many times and will give you tips for future trips and also help you develop your UV photography skills.

ATTENTION! Prerequisites: Diving in Indonesia can be a challenge due to strong currents and the dive sites are in most cases very remote! This means that any help (doctor, hospital or recompression chamber) is usually several hours or days away! You must be able to dive without the help of an instructor. The dive guides are there to guide and for unlikely emergencies.
Therefore, Ilike liveaboard requires at least 75 logged dives and a minimum certification level CMAS**, Padi Advanced or equivalent.

If you have between 50 and 75 logged dives, we can arrange a private dive guide for you if you book at least one month before departure. This extra service costs extra and is subject to availability.
Or you who have 50-75 dives can bring your own experienced dive buddy (Should be able to verify at least 150 logged dives) who will take care of you!

Diving in Ambon and Raja Ampat

Diving in the Banda Sea and northern Indonesia is among the most exotic you can possibly experience. Here in the world's deepest ocean, between the Asian and Australian continental plates, there are more species than anywhere else in the world. Corals in absolute top class and invertebrates in every imaginable color and shape. If you like macro photography, you are guaranteed to see different octopuses, nudibranchs but also frogfish, seahorses and different kinds of crustaceans in different sizes, colors and shapes. The reefs are often covered with echinoderms, sponges, black corals, gorgonians and are teeming with fish in many places.

If you're lucky you can see schools of barracudas, tuna, big marlins and horse mackerels. Here, schools of hammerhead sharks and several other species of shark are regularly seen passing along the reefs and out in the blue. Even the great mighty whale shark can be seen here as well as several species of rays.

The invertebrates, cephalopods, nudibranchs, crustaceans and echinoderms dominate together with sponges, sea urchins and various corals or sea urchins. The species richness is amazing and here you can see the very spectacular psychedelic frogfish if you are very lucky. A completely unique species that many consider to be the most unique that can possibly be experienced under the surface and it is found here at Ambon.

Raja Ampat is one of the world's most fabled and hottest destinations today with a fantastic macro life but also large animals such as various species of shark and manta rays are common. Fabulous reefs in some places that make this a place every diver should experience at least once in their life. It is not for nothing that many go here again and again. The diving around New Guinea's waters is downright fantastic.
