Experience - Cuba and diving in the queen's gardens and do it now!. Maybe it's the last chance before this amazing archipelago, Jardinas de la Reina closes from 2026. You now have the opportunity to go on an exciting liveaboard diving trip in the fall of 2025 and experience the Caribbean's healthiest and most prosperous coral reefs. As a travel destination, Cuba is still quite unique and almost everyone says - "I have to go there now - before the changes come!"
The changes have come but it is still an incredibly charming and exciting experience.

NOW is your chance! The Caribbean's absolute most prosperous coral reefs, sharks, lots of fish and far from most things you will find in southern Cuba and the Queen's Gardens. You won't get here if you don't go with a liveaboard.

Being able to experience the mythical city of Havana and diving with sharks and on the fine coral reefs on the same trip is not to be missed!

Your accommodation - Avalon F2 Jardine's Avalon F2 liveaboard in Cuba is a 40 meter long and large boat. She has 10 luxurious comfortable air-conditioned cabins and all cabins are en-suite. The cabins have 2 beds (one single and one double) in bunk style. The liveaboard can take 20 passengers and there is a crew of 9 on board who are always ready to give you service. The design and furnishings give the boat a touch of intimacy and a feeling of warmth and yet it is simple. All spaces are designed to provide you and other guests with maximum comfort and safety. Each cabin has panoramic windows so you can enjoy the wonderful view of the Caribbean beaches.

Along for the ride - Along with the trip, a person from Scuba Travel will go and help on site if there is anything that needs to be arranged on site.

About Cuba

You land in Cuba in the afternoon and stay one night in a hotel where you can rest after a long journey. The next morning the transfer goes to South Cuba to go out to the Magical Queen's Gardens. Jardinas de la Reina is undoubtedly the Caribbean's best preserved and healthiest coral reef and here there are plenty of fish, sharks and you are completely away from mass tourism. For those of you who want to add a day or more in Havana or Cuba in connection with your liveaboard and diving trip to Cuba, we suggest spending one or a couple of days entirely according to your own wishes in central Havana. A very nice town that is easy to spend a day in and make the time go incredibly fast. The Malecon, the 8 km long promenade is worth experiencing, spontaneous dancing, music, fishermen and many lovely old cars you see here. A visit to the old town is probably a must.

The Revolution Museum and a visit to a cigar factory are other things you can do, or just strolling around and enjoying the atmosphere and seeing the old colonial buildings, people and cars is an experience that fills one's day. A visit to the La Bodeguita bar to experience a real mojito can end the day.

There are three important people in the history of Cuba, Fidel, Che Guevarra and Ernest Hemingway, you will come across these three names and pictures everywhere, and Hemingway's "home bar" is the aforementioned La Bodeguita.

The Caribbean's absolute most prosperous coral reefs, sharks, lots of fish and far from most things you will find in southern Cuba and the Queen's Gardens. You won't get here if you don't go with a liveaboard. Maybe now is the last chance as the rules will probably change before 2026 and possibly no more liveaboarders will be organized here in the future. The future will tell.

Itinerary - Day by day

Day 1
You leave Scandinavia and fly to Havana, the capital of Cuba. On arrival we have a transfer to the hotel.

Day 2
We check out from the hotel in Havana and then there is a bus transfer for about six hours to Jucaro in southern Cuba. The bus will stop along the way for food, drinks and toilet visits. After that, board the boat Avalon F2 and travel out to Jardinas de la Reina, the Queen's Gardens. Expect the boat to take about five hours.

Day 3 - 8
Dive days with two to three dives / day except the last day, Friday when two dives are done. Full board on board and some excursions in the mangroves and islands are included for those who are willing and able.

Day 8
After Friday's last two dives, the boat returns to the mainland and arrives in Jucaro late in the afternoon. Dinner together and the last night on board takes place in port.

Day 9
Check-out, loading the bus and travel back to Havana. Even on the way back we will stop to be able to get something to eat, a drink and a visit to the toilet. Return to Havana and transfer to the airport and fly home, or for those who choose to extend the tour towards further adventures.

Our program is only a preliminary plan that is influenced based on the external conditions that the weather gods reward us with. This means that we may have to move activities and dive sites to other days and also replace planned activities with alternatives if required. We ask you to be flexible.
