Bahamas Exuma Cays liveaboard safari

The Bahamas and Exuma Cays archipelago offers a wonderful liveaboard and the area consists of more than 350 small islands and coves. The area stretches over 190 kilometers south of New Providence to Great and Little Exuma in the south. The Exuma Cays are part of the more remote Out Islands of the Bahamas. The Cays are the most exotic of these islands. A collection of little sandy jewels scattered in the aquamarine and sapphire sea. Experience the strange place Pigs bay where you can dive with swimming pigs!

These are some of the world's most beautiful waters along with a fascinating combination of walls and rich shallow reefs.

Some of the dive sites you may visit:

Lost Blue Hole: The edge of this great blue hole lies at a depth of about 10 meters and is surrounded by coral heads, stingrays and many shoals of fish. There is a cave where there is often plenty of lobster at a depth of about 25 meters. In the sand that surrounds the hole you will find many small fish such as e.g. banded jawfish, gobies and much more. There are usually one or two nurse or nurse sharks. During the spring there is often a large shoal of black tip sharks at the bottom of the hole at a depth of about 60 meters.

Amberjack Reef: This roughly 15 meter long reef has a rich fish life with, among other things, reef sharks and large groupers. The dive also has many interesting small animals such as blennies and garden eels. During the safety stop, divers can be surrounded by over 100 tuna that sometimes gather in shoals under the boat.

Wreck diving in the "wrong place"

Austin Smith Wreck: A Bahamian Defense Force cutter of just under 30 meters in length, lying at a depth of just under 20 meters, which ironically sank in 1995 when it was towed to San Salvador to be sunk there as a dive site.

Barracuda Shoals: This inshore reef has huge shoals of fish and many small critters as well as the surrounding sand. There are often shoals of barracuda here.

Cave Rock: A large coral pile at a depth of 15 meters surrounded by several smaller coral heads. There are several caves where you can swim from one side to the other. The great variety of corals and fishes will amaze you. Hammerhead sharks have often been seen here.

Cave Reef: This approximately 12 meter shallow patch reef has several large tunnels and canyons that cut through the middle of the reef.

On the boats in the Bahamas, a so-called "open pool diving" or "open deck" is sometimes applied. This means that since the dives are so shallow, you can choose to do several dives per day during the day when you feel like it. As a guest, you yourself are responsible for your diving profile. You also have the opportunity to visit some of the islands. One liveaboard to the Bahamas is a powerful experience and fantastic diving trip. Contact for your diving adventure in the Bahamas.
