Diving certificate abroad
There are many advantages to taking a diving trip and obtaining a diving certificate abroad. The major diving organizations have exactly the same training wherever you take your diving course.
Warm water when diving abroad
An advantage of a diving trip and diving certificate abroad is that you get to dive in warm water. Then you relax more easily and you will be able to do all your exercises both easier and faster.
Good visibility
Abroad, visibility (how far you can see) is usually better than in our seas in Sweden. And if you can see better, you will be able to relax more easily and enjoy the dive much faster. You will also be able to see more of the marine life.
Less equipment
In warm water, you don't need to use as much protection against the cold. It is enough to use a wet suit. You avoid hoods and gloves that reduce your mobility. You feel much more flexible than if you have to have full equipment against cold water.
The entire course at once
If you take a diving trip and get your diving certificate abroad on your holiday, you will complete your diving course in one go and can directly apply what you have learned in your theory lessons. This often works better than having to wait a week or two between each dive.
Full course or referral
You have different possibilities when you want to take a diving course abroad.
- Take the entire course on site.
- Do some at home in Sweden and the rest abroad (referral).
The entire diving course for a diving certificate abroad
You book a trip with a diving certificate, so that you start the course as soon as possible when you arrive. The course takes 3-5 days to complete and after passing the course you will receive an international diving certificate. Feel free to do a few more dives after the course. The more you dive, the safer you become.
Referral
If you don't have time to take a full course, or want to catch up on more diving after the course, you can make a so-called referral.
Then you do all theory, your final exam and all pool dives in Sweden with a Swedish instructor, after which you will receive a completed referral form. You leave this at the diving school at your destination, and you can therefore do the part of the course that consists of diving in the sea. Please note that you must complete the course in the same education system all the way through. You cannot switch between different education systems. Ask your instructor in Sweden about this so you book the right course.

What is included in a diving trip and diving course when you take a diving certificate abroad?
A course includes course materials, complete diving equipment during the course, and an international diving certificate after completing the course. During the course, you will have theory interspersed with practical exercises in a pool or protected water, and finally you tie everything together with four dives in the sea. We also arrange flights, transfers and accommodation for you in a complete package
Further training on a diving trip abroad
You have a fantastic opportunity to take further courses abroad. Some special courses are suitable for cold water, others for warm. If you want to learn to dive in flowing water, you should of course do it where there are a lot of currents. If you want to learn about animals and fish, you do it best where the species richness is great. There are a variety of diving certifications to take and more experience to gain. So when you make your diving trip, think about combining it with a course that suits the destination.
